Specializing in diabetic alert dogs

Mary graduated from Concordia University with a degree in psychology and has been working exclusively with dogs for the last 20 years. As a canine expert, one of Mary's greatest accomplishments is helping her clients lead fuller, healthier lives through this diabetic alert dog program.

 

Other accomplishments include:

• Graduated from North American Dog Academy as certified obedience trainer

• Head trainer for 4 years on the television show "Animal Miracles with Alan Thicke"

  • Worked with cougars, pigs, snakes, cats, dogs, cows, alligators, horses and birds

  • Acted as stunt person on a number of episodes

• Graduated from Vom Kaiserhofe training center as an explosive and narctotics detection trainer

• Received certificate from US Dept. of Justice for successful completion of National Odor Recognition Testing (explosives)

• Certified by the North American Police Work Dog Association as an explosive detection dog handler

• Completed dog handlers explosives familiarization course at Canadian Police College

• Certified as Master Trainer in explosive detection by Montreal Airports highly specialized k9 unit

• Received certificate of Validation by Justice Institute of BC as explosive and narcotic detection handler

• Trained many diabetic alert dogs currently working throughout Canada& the USA

• Competed at the 2014 and 2015 National IPO Championships, and the 2014, 2015 Regional Championships.

• Vice Champion at 2016 British Columbia Regional IPO Championships

• Champion - 2017 Quebec Regional IPO Championships

• Champion - 2018 Prairie Regional IPO Championships

• Received IGP 3 on her competition dog Opal - 2023
